Neapolitan pizza with halal beef sucuk at Desidero Pizzeria Marbella

At Pizzeria Desidero in the heart of Marbella, we celebrate authentic Italian craft while making sure there is something for everyone. One of our most requested creations is the Neapolitan pizza with halal beef sucuk — our signature 48-hour slow-fermented dough meeting the rich, smoky, spiced flavour of 100% halal beef sausage.

Ranked among the top 3 Italian restaurants in Marbella on GastroRanking, we wanted to share how this one comes together.

Key ingredients

  • 48-hour slow-fermented dough (light and easy to digest)
  • San Marzano tomato sauce, hand-crushed
  • Fresh Fior di Latte mozzarella
  • Halal beef sucuk, thinly sliced
  • A touch of smoked provolone to lift the spices
  • Fresh basil leaves and extra virgin olive oil

Step by step, the Desidero way

  1. Stretch the dough: shaped by hand to keep the air in the rim, for that classic cornicione — crisp outside, soft and airy inside.
  2. Base layer: a thin layer of San Marzano tomato, then Fior di Latte mozzarella and a little smoked provolone.
  3. The star touch: the sliced halal beef sucuk. As it bakes, the sausage releases its spiced oils, blending into the cheese for an unmistakable aroma.
  4. Wood-fired oven: baked in our traditional wood-fired oven at over 400°C for just 60–90 seconds.
  5. The finish: fresh basil and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil straight out of the fire.

Honestly halal, on request

The sucuk we use comes from certified halal suppliers, and our team prepares halal orders with their own utensils. In full honesty: Desidero is not a fully halal restaurant — the standard menu includes pork products and we serve alcohol. What we offer is a genuine certified halal option for guests who ask. Just mention it when you order and we will guide you through the menu.
